Within the town itself, the main seafront renovations are almost finished, with wider pedestrian areas and single lane traffic maximising the enjoyment visitors can take from its beautiful beaches. Reaching the resort is very easy, as the airport is only a ten minute drive away. Although there is no bus service between resort and airport, this hardly matters, as taxi fares are not expensive for such a short journey. And car hire in Lanzarote is reasonable, with several rental concessions based in the arrivals hall of the airport. For those who have hired a car, the resort is easy to find, as once you have left the airport, taking the Yaiza exit, it is only another hundred metres on the motorway before the Puerto del Carmen turning.

Lanzarote is located just off the coast of West Africa, just within the tropic of Capricorn.  A privileged position which creates a great year round climate that’s characterised by very low rainfall and temperatures which average out at 21 celsuis – even during December and January.  Creating a climate that is often likened to an eternal spring and making the island the closest winter sun destination the UK.

The Arrecife Gran Hotel is located next to the main beach in the capital – Playa El Reducto – and spans seventeen storeys.  Having escaped an earlier government edict that only edifices no taller than a Canarian palm tree could be constructed on the island in an attempt offset over development.
